Gravesend & District DFAS

The Gravesend and District NADFAS Group was formed 15 years ago. Members come from Gravesend and surrounding villages.

We have 216 members and a waiting list for membership.

Gravesend and its surrounding districts have many historic buildings and areas of cultural interest which contribute greatly to the character and uniqueness of the area. Gravesham Borough Council  has won many national awards for its regeneration programme such as for the town pier ( the last remaining cast iron pier in the world); the Berkley Cresent Colonnades and North High Street.

St Georges Church in the centre of Gravesend is the place where Princess Pocahontas is buried. Many well known personalities have links with the area including Charles Dickens and Daniel Defoe.

The Picture above of Gravesend Pier has been provided by Gravesham Borough Council.

Lectures begin at 11:00 am. Coffee and tea are available from 10:15 am. We meet on the second Tuesday in the month except July when we meet on the first Tuesday in the month. There are no meetings in August or December.

Venue:
The Masonic Hall
Wrotham Road, Gravesend. DA11 0PA.

Waiting list members can come to 2 lectures per year and join us on study days, visits and holidays.

A two course lunch is enjoyed by many members after the meeting costing £10.00 and is available by booking with Hilary Green on 01474 822996 one week prior to the meeting.
