Dover & Deal Decorative & Fine Arts Society (DDDFAS) was formed in 1978, with Sheila Marshall as the founding Chairman. In the early years the Society met in Dover but after a short time a more suitable venue was found in Sandwich.
DDDFAS arranges lectures with slides on a variety of subjects, including ceramics, architecture, sculpture, paintings, to name but a few.
Our study days cover a wide range of subjects and include two or three lectures with lunch.
Visits are arranged throughout the year to art galleries and stately homes.
Holidays are at home and abroad.
Volunteer groups include Church Recorders and Heritage Volunteers.
Young Arts, workshops and lectures are put on at schools. Prizes awarded to students at Canterbury College.
Lectures are held on the first Tuesday (There is no meeting in August and the January meeting is usually held on the 2nd Tuesday thus avoiding the Bank Holiday.)
